Fall Baseball

MISSION
AJAA's Recreational Baseball Program is designed to give players an understanding of the fundamentals, develop already established skills, learn about teamwork, how to handle both winning and losing, and how to work hard to achieve a goal.

AGE DIVISIONS 

Tee Ball: ages 4, 5, & 6 (Coach pitch/hit off the tee)
Rookies: ages 6 & 7 (All Coach pitch)
AA: ages 8 & 9 (First year of player pitch)
AAA: ages 9 & 10 (any 11 year old's that may not have any experience - Full player pitch)
Majors: ages 11 & 12 (Full player pitch)
Juniors/Seniors: combined league for 13-16 year old's

The Fall Baseball season runs late July through early October.

REGISTRATION
Regular Registration for Fall Baseball is scheduled to open in mid-May.

PRACTICES AND GAMES
Fall Baseball will have one game on Sundays (starting after 1pm and should be finished between 6-7pm) and possibly one game during the week and one practice. Actual team schedules will not be built until after registration has closed and teams have been assigned. AJAA Fall Baseball will be an internal league unless there aren't enough players signed up. If there aren't enough players per league, teams will play outside leagues and could travel to those leagues (local organizations).

LOCATIONS
Practices and games will be held at various facilities including AJAA Baseball/Softball Park (located at 866 S. Co. Rd. 625 East, Avon), Avon Middle School North Fields, Avon Middle School South Fields, and Light & Life Church on 100S.

GEAR REQUIRED
AJAA will provide players with uniform shirts and hats. Players are asked to purchase gray baseball pants, a fielding glove, a bat, and a batting helmet.  Cleats are encouraged (non-metal), but not mandatory.

HEAD COACHES

Volunteer Coaches are needed for every league, every team. Please consider registering as a coach when registering your child. Head Coaches are asked to attend a Coach's meeting before the season starts.  More details on that to come.

Umpires Needed

AJAA is currently looking for umpires for its Baseball/Softball programs.  Interested individuals must be at least 14 years of age, adults welcome too. 

AJAA is looking for individuals with a willingness to learn the skill of umpiring.  Experience is not required as AJAA offers training to all umpires.  Training meetings are mandatory along with any other umpire meetings that may happen.  Criminal Background Check is required for adults 18 and over; 2 letters of recommendation for minors required. 

Pay is based on experience from $15 and up per game.

Team/player/parent communication

AJAA Coaches will utilize Game Changer/Team Manager to communicate with players/families.  Please download the Game Changer/Team Manager app on your smartphone.  Once your player is rostered to a team, you will see your player's team info.  Click HERE for the Game Changer/Team Manager info sheet.
