
OVERVIEWThe AJAA Football Committee, USA Football and the Avon Junior Athletic Association are committed to ensuring a positive youth football experience. We provide league-wide benefits for AJAA players, parents and coaches through USA Football’s Heads Up Program. Indianapolis-based USA Football and the AJAA have been partners since 2011. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams.
All coaches are prepared to lead their teams by completing a 15-chapter coaching education course on usafootball.com, encompassing how to best teach football fundamentals, communicating with players and player health and safety, including concussion education and management. 2022 Football Committee (Volunteer Leaders Who Oversee Football): Coming Soon!

Avon High School Football Camp (highly recommended by AJAA Football Committee that players attend) is July 11th - 14th at Avon High School. This is also where AJAA holds Football evaluations. PLEASE register your player to attend!

Registration can be found on the AJAA website under camps and clinics for both.
**Avon High School Football Camp will be an add on option. PLEASE remember to select the option upon registering. The fee for Football Camp when registering with AJAA Fall Football is $35. If you do not register through AJAA registration, the fee will be $60 due 1st day of camp; CASH ONLY.

We need many people who are interested in a fall coaching position. Coaches will need to attend the Coaches meeting to be trained on how to properly fit the kids with a helmet and shoulder pads. If you need more information on volunteering, please email the Football Commissioner by clicking HERE.

PRACTICES AND GAMES
Flag league will typically have 1 practice a week - games are planned for Saturdays
Jr. Tackle through Majors usually practice a couple of times a week up to 4 times a week before games begin (coaches discretion) and Games are typically on Saturdays (some Tuesdays)
**games could be held through the week in the evenings if make up games are needed
Practices are scheduled to start July 25th 2022 at Cedar Elementary
Games are scheduled to start August 13th 2022. Games are played at Avon Middle School North.

EQUIPMENT FITTINGS
Registered AJAA Fall Football players can come pick up a helmet and pads on the following dates:
Tuesday June 14th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields
Thursday June 16th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields
Wednesday June 22nd from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields
Tuesday June 28th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields
Thursday June 30th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields

**Flag Football players do NOT need to attend equipment fittings.
EVALUATIONS
Evaluations for Jr Tackle through Majors are at Avon High School Football Camp July 11th - July 14th from 5:30-7:15pm.
Players are highly encouraged to attend AHS camp/evals, and you MUST select camp in the AJAA registration.
AHS Camp is $35 for AJAA players when registering for AJAA Football. Camp fee includes a camp shirt & football distributed to players at camp.
If you do not register your player for AHS Football camp in the AJAA Fall Football registration, the pay at the gate fee the first day at camp is $60 per camper.
ITEMS NEEDED FOR CAMP: Each player should bring to camp: helmet, shoulder pads, mouth guard, and water bottle (with their name on it). Players should wear shorts or football pants, a practice jersey over their shoulder pads and cleats (no metal spikes). If your player did not attend evals at AHS Football Camp, they MUST attend Make Up Evals: Monday July 18th from 6-8pm for anyone that could not make the previous date. Location is Cedar Elementary
