2026 Cheerleading (Winter Rec. Basketball)

AYS Basketball Cheer is a recreational program designed for Avon children in grades 3rd - 6th grade. Our program goals are to teach the future cheerleaders of Avon basics, such as chants, motions, jumps, and age-appropriate stunting. We also hope to instill a feeling of accomplishment, team spirit, and good sportsmanship. Cheerleaders will cheer for AYS Rec. Basketball teams throughout their Winter season.

Practices will begin the week of December 1st, 2025. Practices and games will be scheduled on weeknights and Saturdays.

2026 Recreational Basketball League

AYS offers Rec. Basketball divisions for boys and girls in KG through High School! Additionally, boys in grades 2 - 6 will have the option to register for either the Rec. Basketball division in their grade level OR register in the Rec+ Basketball Division in their age group. Rec.+ is a more advanced league. Athletes registered in Rec+ MUST attend evaluations, which will ensure athletes are placed in the appropriate league based on their current skill level.

By registering, you agree to follow the AYS Code of Conduct. You also agree that your athlete, and anyone you invite to attend our games will also follow the AYS Code of Conduct zero tolerance policy. The Code of Conduct Policy is available at avonindiana.gov/sports under the About Us tab, and then click on Forms & Policies. 

PLEASE NOTE:
1) Basketballs are NOT distributed to coaches. Each player should bring or purchase a basketball to bring to practice. A basketball is necessary to allow each play to work on ball handling drills during practice, allow for extra practice at home, and it is a requirement for every AYS league, camp, and/or clinic. Please make sure to put your name on it so they don't get lost.

Junior Orioles Volleyball is designed to be more challenging than Rec. Volleyball but without the time and financial commitment as a true travel program. Participants will participate in multiple local tournaments around the Indy area.

Avon Baseball Club will serve players Little League aged 7-12, based on the 2026 Little League Age Chart, who either live or go to school within the AYS Little League boundaries.

Players of all skill levels are encouraged to join, as we want all players to have the opportunity to grow and improve.

All players must play in the 2026 AYS Baseball Spring Rec season

All players who join ABC will receive the following:

✓ Sunday afternoon/evening workouts at the Avon Youth Sports Indoor Facility in January and February
✓ 1 ABC Hat
✓ 1 ABC Shirt
